Pay Per Click Services To Promote Websites

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

I’ve created and been in charge of search engine optimization of a couple of websites, and it’s not very easy. We tried and tried to get our results closer to the top of the search engines, but we just couldn’t figure it out. It’s not an easy task, but there are other ways to advertise. It can be complicated to get it right on your own, but paid search, also known as pay per click, advertising can be a great way to get more visitors to your site. Apogee Search has a great service that will make the most of your advertising budget. They will work with you to determine the best way to reach your goals based on what you are trying to do with your site. Next time I need services like this, I’ll definitely give these guys a try.

Using tovid to Create DVDs in Linux

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

tovid is a set of scripts that makes it easy and painless to convert any video you can play with mplayer to a DVD compliant video and even create a DVD structure to burn onto a disc. These video conversion scripts are amazing. I have used them to convert a PowerPoint slide show that I exported to an AVI file of pictures from my mission in Germany. It’s great to finally get this out of a proprietary format before I can no longer play it. It was created by the missionaries in the Mission Office and was synched up to music.

To get tovid and to learn how to set it up, just go to http://tovid.wikia.com.

Ted Murphy: Secret Leader of the Illuminati

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

PayPerPost.com’s founder, Ted Murphy, has been seen in secretly recorded video inside the Bohemian Grove. Through PayPerPost he is gearing up to start paying bloggers to place ads on blogs that promote the Military Industrial Complex and will lead the world into a police state. The New World Order exists and Mr. Murphy is the ringleader! He tries to hide this by pretending to be an entrepreneur with nothing more than a good idea and the brains to implement it. This is all a ruse. Don’t be fooled! For more information about his front, PayPerPost.com, click on the link in this posting. Together we can resist the onslaught of the One World Government!

LEGO Thriller

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

Michael Jackson’s Thriller music video is one of the greatest music videos of all time. Check out what happens when you throw LEGO in the mix!

I wish this guy would have used a better camera so that things in the foreground weren’t outof focus. Still, I would love to see more work by these people.

The Addictive Power of eBay

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

Krissy has been doing a lot of Christmas shopping online. She and I both suffer from a disorder that makes it very difficult for us to stop ourselves from buying something if it appears to be priced well below its value. On the bright side, order at least our Christmas shopping is almost done!

Refinincing Auto Loans Because Money Matters

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

In the last post I said that I wished I could just let morons slam into me when they cut me off on the road, but I can’t do that because I don’t have that kind of money to spare. I’m guessing most people don’t or else bad drivers would get their commupance more often. Refinancing an auto loan can be a great way to save money in the short term and, if done properly, in the long term as well. Auto Refinance isn’t usually the most enjoyable thing to undertake, but Rate Genius can make things a little bit smoother. It’s a free service and they will help you find the best rate you can qualify for. Give it a shot and see if they can get you a better deal than what you have now. I know I could use a break every month!

Why Are there So Many Bad Drivers?

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

I have taken to keeping my thumb over the horn (which is idiotically not placed in the middle of the steering wheel) just waiting for people to do foolish and idiotic things. It drives me nuts and I often wonder if the people are ignorant of the law, just making an honest mistake, or purposefully breaking laws just to get one car-length ahead. I feel like it’s my obligation to let them know that others notice when they do dumb things and force good drivers to avoid them. Sometimes I wish I could just let people hit my car and then have to pay for their inconsiderate driving. If I were in a position where money were not an object then I would allow the guy who starts in the rightmost left-turn lane and ends up in the left lane before the turn is over to just plow into the side of my car. I could just get another one and let the insurance take care of his idiocy.

Dr. Laura said that she listens to Saturday Night Fever to sedate herself while driving so she doesn’t explode at the inhumanity on the road. I don’t know what sond would do it for me. It still doesn’t change the fact that the only reason bad drivers don’t get into accidents more often is because of all the good drivers around them who suffer.

No Rodeos in Southern California

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

Have you ever been to the Rodeo? I can remember being in Vernal, Utah as a kid during summers and being close enough to the Rodeo to hear the crowd. I never thought about it much then, but we never decided to go. I never hear anything about rodeos here in Southern California. I’m sure there are a number of smaller ones in Valley Center or other areas. After looking around I found what looks like the most interesting rodeo around. The Huston Rodeo looks like they have real cowboys that know what they’re doing. I could never pull off the kinds of things that they are doing. Not top of all of this they have some of the biggest names in country music coming to perform nightly. If that sounds interesting you can take a look at who is performing and get Houston Rodeo concert tickets. It makes me wish I had some friends in the area that I could go visit so I would have an excuse to check it out. I bet my mom would like this. Maybe I’ll see if she wants to go!

My Cell Phone is Found!

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

My cell phone disappeared while we were house sitting, but today we got a call that it has been located! The worst part about not having it is that I don’t ever know what time it is. I don’t wear a watch anymore since my watch battery died. I have enjoyed having a free pocket though. Too many gadgets to carry around nowadays.

Office Furniture: Where to Turn?

Tuesday, October 10th, 2006

The desk I’m using right now for my computer is interesting looking, but I bought it on clearance. I think it was on clearance because it is so unstable. The design really isn’t sound and the slightest nudge makes the while thing creak and wobble. When I graduate I’d like to set up a nice work room with a real desk and a counter with power outlets and everything I would need to do electrical and computer projects. When it comes to office furniture though it’s sometimes difficult to know where to go to get the best quality for your money. Starving students take what they can get, but once you’ve left that phase of your life it’s time to get something a little bit nicer. Mayline is the brand of choice for me when it comes to quality office furniture. The way their stuff is put together means you don’t have to worry about a computer monitor falling on your two year old’s head. I wouldn’t trust my current desk around small children.

The place to go for Mayline Furniture is BizChair.com. Not only do they have great prices, but they have a wide selection to match. As their name suggests, they started out with office chairs, but that’s only the beginning. They have expanded their business and have recently started offering Mayline office furniture. Most items they carry they offer a full 60 day money back guarantee and returned items are never shipped out again to other customers so you are sure to get exactly what you are looking for. Check them out if you are in the market for new office furniture.
